Personal Recollections and Observations of General Nelson A. Miles.
Published in Hardcover by DaCapo Press (June, 1969)
Average review score:

Miles' books detail the Indian Wars with historical accountsGeneral Nelson A. Miles wrote a detailed, history- filled accounts of the Red River Wars and other Indian battles. Illustrations by F. Remington were a big surprise to me, as it was of a direct relative, William F. Schmalsle, Indian Scout, Guide, and Courier. The rescue of the German Sisters is a heartfelt experience. The reader will feel like one is living in the Old West, with all the joys, adventures, and tribulations that the characters experienced. The references in the back offer one further insight into the past. As Miles was involved in other battles besides those with the Indians, the history buff will find a lot of references in the back of the book which will result in many hours of pleasurable research and reading. The General Miles history trail may lead you to a long lost relative, as I found out, with numerous sources of information. So try reading the General Miles books from your library and if you like, order them from Amazon and take them home, or take them camping in the woods and plains, visit the historical places mentioned.

Pets-R-Permitted: Hotel, Motel Kennel and Petsitter Directory
Published in Paperback by Annenberg Communications Inst (January, 1995)
Average review score:

ExcellentA truly wonderful guide which I wish I had bought prior to recently boarding my dog Grendel. I'm told he got himself a...-jacket for putting himself under the wing of an old timer daddy bulldog during his kennel stay. This superb guide will help us consider the alternative community-based disposals on offer since Grendel clearly can't do the time without unacceptable compromises.

Pew Bible

Hey, Its a Bible!Well How do I review a Bible? Its great content is aided by its clear style of writing. I had a hard time with King James Version which is why I went to New King James. I like the way it says things in a more concise way without all of the antiquated language.

Planning Your Preaching: A Step-By-Step Guide for Developing a One-Year Preaching Calendar
Published in Paperback by Kregel Publications (December, 2002)
Average review score:

Excellent Information In This Book!Rummage has done an outstanding job writing about a topic few preachers prepare for or even give a lot of thought to. Until you're in the day to day work of being a pastor, you can't appreciate the practicality this volume affords. In this book, Rummage lays out a plan that can be adapted to any situation and gives hands on "real world" advice on how to use that plan once you've done it. He takes the time to cover areas that all pastors should cover including expository, doctrinal, and pastoral sermons along with sermons for special days of the year. He even gives a great historical background of the liturgical, lectionary style of using the scriptures without having to endorse it but instead, advocates its ideals as perhaps a way of being creative in your own planning. All in all, it's a book I would say deserves to be in any pastor's library. It's affordability would make it a great gift for someone you know who's about to enter the pastorate also. I'm already beginning to enjoy the benefits of many of this book's ideas. Thanks Stephen!

The Poet of Wall Street
Published in Hardcover by James Pub Ltd (July, 1992)
Average review score:

A must buy for stock market enthusiasts! These poems illustrate Nelson's expertise as a money manager, as well as his philosophy about various principles in this world. Anyone who is passionate about the stock market will love learning Nelson's insight into the world of Wall Street. Avoid the temptation to read the book quickly, however. Spend time pondering each poem. There is a lot of wisdom condensed into very few words. In my opinion, this book should be listed with Stock Market books as well as poetry books...a unique combination. A true gem!

Possibility Thinkers Bible: The New King James Version: Positive Verses for Possibility Thinking Highlighted in Blue
Published in Hardcover by Thomas Nelson (August, 1984)
Average review score:

Possibility Thinkers Bible - The New King James VersionThis edition of the Bible, Possibility Thinkers Bible, the New King James Version, was made available through the Sunday TV program by Robert Schuller who said that it contained the most beautiful English translation of the Bible available. Dr. Schuller was correct, in my view. This translation is quite beautiful and very easy to read. Previously I had read another translation in English which was frankly quite poorly and unevenly done. This New King James Version, Possibility Thinkers Bible, brought the Bible to life for me in everyday, beautiful English. My thanks go to the translators of the New King James Version. You did a wonderful job for the Lord God/Jesus Christ.
